About Nancy

Long before she was an acclaimed professional speaker, Nancy Reece was a little girl growing up on a farm in Indiana. Her life journey took her to the inner city of Chicago to serve in one of the worst housing projects in the US. It was there that Nancy learned key lessons about integrity, power and courage that she has applied during her career.

In addition to being an acclaimed speaker, Nancy Reece is a talented writer and has authored the book, The Dichotomy of Power® – Using Power with Intelligence and Integrity, and co-authored / edited the book Strengthening the Organizational Heart. She is the Integrity First columnist for the Nashville Business Journal and wrote for the My Perspective column for Perspective magazine for 10 years. Nancy also teaches Leadership Perspectives at Lipscomb University’s Graduate Business School equipping professionals to make an impact on their organizations.

As Sr. Consultant with The Human Capital Group, Inc., Nancy specializes in values based leadership consulting and coaching that enables clients to build high performing teams and cultures of integrity. Nancy is a master trainer and has trained hundreds of other trainers to make an impact on organizations. She delivers best practices in management and leadership with energy, style and fun – while impacting business results!

She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Evansville and her M.S. degree from Indiana University, and has continued her lifelong learning at Harvard University and the Center for Creative Leadership.

  • I am most creative when...I am in productive conflict with a team. I love to throw ideas out, wrestle with them, discuss them, and then walk away with a creative problem or solution – while respecting everyone in the meeting for their candid thoughts and insight.
  • I find encouragement from...reading thank you notes. I have collected them for 30 years from all the different jobs I had. In the difficult times, when I wonder why I’m doing this, I pull out a few and remember just why I do what I do.
  • I challenge myself by...taking risk and going to the next level. Risk taking is easy when things are going well – it’s in the times of challenge that I prefer the security of the known. Over my lifetime, I have learned the benefits of taking risks when everything in you cries out not to do so.
  • I lead the best when...I have the opportunity to lead dramatic change. I am energized by the opportunity to cast a vision, to get commitment, and to inspire others to fulfill that vision. If that vision sets a high bar that enables an organization or company to be prepared for the future, I’m in my sweet spot.
